Google Ads are odd

Out of curiosity and naked greed, I added Google ads to the blog. For those of you who aren't familiar with them, they index your site and give you ads based on the content.

You can imagine my surprise when I saw the ad currently on here for "Controlling Psoriasis". If not for Google's wisdom, I would have had no idea that such ads were appropriate for this blog.

Which leads me to my next question: who is reading this? As a public service announcement, I suggest you get yourself some good ointment.

Long time, no post

Boy have I been lax in posting to my blog. Worry not, all is well. I'm just in a deep haze of sleep deprivation from MoralShortie's night time wakings.

Other than that, things are going pretty well. AirplaneGirl, Shortie and I are all settled in to our place in Palo Alto. While I do miss the city, I don't miss the reek of urine and the sirens. Instead, I have a balcony garden. We did have a pipe leak, but still no urine.

We're also both still employed, which is not to be taken for granted right now, I guess.

So, yes. All is well...

New cocktail

AirplaneGirl threw down the gauntlet when I mentioned I wanted to make a new cocktail. She suggested muddled green zebra tomato as a ingredient. Here's the best I could come up with:
Ingredients:
  • 1 green zebra tomato
  • 1 oz. vodka (I used celery-peppercorn from Modern Spirits)
  • 1 oz. dry vermouth (I used Cinzano Bianco)
  • a dash of sherry
Muddle the tomato, add ice, then the liquor. Mix.

I hope this is a poor translation.

CSPAN

This is kind of awesome. I'm watching CSPAN and there are literally
two senators there. Two. And one of them is ranting. He's said
American like twelve times.

Now the other guy is talking. They're both from Texas, and neither of
them is even moderately good at public speaking.

That pretty much sums it up...

Odd ad

What a strange ad campaign. Are the saying "now with real chicken" or
have they added bones to their chicken product?

2 of these, but still no entrée. Foreign Cinema kind of sucks tonight.

It has been a crazy few days. As followers of moralshortie know,
AirplaneGirl and I have a daughter now. Take a look over there for
pictures.

Mother and baby are taking a nap, but I've always had a hard time
napping, so I'm entertaining myself with my iPhone. It feels like
yesterday was weeks ago, perhaps because I slept little for the days
leading up to it. I suspect I'll adapt to the lack of sleep before too
long unless Shortie keeps sleeping as well as she has so far.

With luck we'll be home tomorrow...

I strongly suspect that they are making up words now...

iPhone has weird problems

I can't figure out how to do the following basic functions on my iPhone:
  • bcc someone other than me on an email
  • add a phone number to my address book while in a call
  • copy and paste text
  • attach a picture to an existing email
  • attach more than one picture to an email
Anyone else sort these out? I suspect they aren't possible, as Apple seems to tolerate odd gaps in functionality in the name of usability.

Worst word of the day calendar ever!

Above you can see some of the gems that my 2008 word of the day calendar have given me...

I'm budding!

I believe that you all know of the eminent arrival of the child of AirplaneGirl and me: MoralShortie.

You can read about its adventures here: http://moralshortie.blogspot.com/

Also, we'll post a picture there once the tyke is born. Fun! Fun!

Lamest parade ever

AirplaneGirl and I are downtown and came across the lamest parade ever. There were two floats, both of which were filled with people in parkas. Aside from a sheet with "Greek" written on it, there was no indication of what the parade was for.

Everyone else seemed confused too. There were far more people asking others what was going on than cheering...
